They're particularly well suited for severe services where mineral oil-based products do not meet expectations such as are a reality when applications are subjected to high final compressions temps. They are formulated with design-specific wax-free synthetic hydrocarbon fluids, and a high-tech additive system that ensures exceptional resistance to thermal degradation and oxidation, far superior to mineral oil-based air compressor oils. The Mobil Rarus SHC 1000 Series has a high viscosity index, which provides effective lubrication at high temps. Mobil Rarus SHC 1024, viscosity grade 32 Mobil Rarus SHC 1025, viscosity grade 46, Mobil Rarus SHC 1026, viscosity grade 68. The lubricants significantly reduce the possibility for fires and explosions when in comparison with mineral oil-based products.
